Así es una universidad pública en EEUU

Dear Colleagues:

This morning almost 2,300 parents and their students arrive for Parents Weekend, three days filled with receptions, lectures, arts performances and athletic contests. The campus will be alive with energy, pride and Bruin spirit as this enthusiastic group discovers all that makes UCLA an amazing place.

Enormous effort has gone into making this weekend a warm and welcoming experience for the newest members of the extended Bruin family, along with families of continuing undergraduates. As you cross the campus I encourage you to extend a handshake and a personal welcome to UCLA. Share pride in the accomplishments of their sons and daughters. This is a valuable moment to strengthen the bonds that form the basis of our lifelong relationship with these important members of our UCLA community.

I hope that as the occasions present themselves throughout the weekend, you will do your part to demonstrate what it means to be a part of the Bruin family and extend our most gracious hospitality.

Sincerely,

Norman Abrams
Acting Chancellor
